Libraries and museums have a great deal to offer environmental studies students. Libraries, museums and archives contain large collections of books, articles, print media, historical documents, policy documents, photographs, films, and artifacts. These materials can provide students with valuable background information about the social, cultural, economic, political and historical conditions that have influenced environmental concerns. Some libraries and museums can offer general information to students, while others can provide much more specific information (i.e., contain information about a specific location, culture, environmental issue, and so forth).
